The boys played well last night & dominated the game.

I thought Akpan tired & lost his way in the last 15 mins.I would have brought on Bully as a straight replacement for him.

The journey home felt as if we'd lost.

With regards to Akpan last night, I felt that he was reluctant to put in a tackle and we suffered a bit in midfield for that. I appreciate with his track record he may be cautious, but if he learnt to tackle properly and didn't make rash judgements, we would have some player on our hands. I hope our coaches are addressing this problem.
At the moment I still feel we are a better side with Bulman or Torres or both.

It just goes to show how far the club has come in a short space of time as I was very disapointed not to come away from Essex with all three points. A draw was more than a poor Colchester team deserved, and although we did not play outstandingly well, we still bossed the game for most of the time.

A lot of decent but not outstanding individual performances, but McFadzean was again excellent and has I think greatly impressed at this level. I think we miss Torres' flair at times, and wish that Simpson would be more generally positive when on the ball. He has the ability but too many sideways and backward passes for me.

Very nice stadium but poor support from the home contingent. I recall many vists to the old Layer Road ground when I lived in Suffolk and the fans were always quite boistrous and supportive of their team.

I did chuckle last night when the very small home support started to sing (albeit very briefly) to us "You've go no history" Laughing

A good point away from home against a team who won't finish in the bottom four (we have only played 7 games remember!).

We could have won the game had one of our 3 efforts that hit the woodwork sneaked in. I can't help but think what the outcome would have been had Adams cut the ball back to Ajose who was totally free 15 yards out instead of shooting himself (his shot was tipped onto the bar).

Had we won from Fadz's goal it would have been theft. I didn't celebrate as i was certain that the Ref would disallow it espeically after he consulted his assistant. Shocking decision.

Paul Jones was in top form again. Hunty struggled. If there is one player who i have doubts about at this level it is him. Mike Jones and Adams caused problems.

I feel we need either Torres or Bully in the middle of the park to break up the play and get in the oppositions face. Having played 'excellent' on Saturday Bully must have been gutted not to make the starting 11.

7 points from trips to Swindon, Preston, Donny and Colchester. I would have taken that at the start of the season, no doubt about that!

8 points off the drop with 39 games to go..............

I would have reminded them that they too had a brief history in the Conference not so many years ago.

I didn't celebrate either at first, I just couldn't believe the ref hadn't given the blantant foul.

However, I also thought that his word with the lino was a token gesture - he wouldn't have listened to that clown and the lino didn't even wave at the first instance so the ref - at that point - had no reason to disallow it.

Awful decision, I'd've been going mental if it were the other way round.
