Aside from the closeness to the start of the season there is also the fact that is might be seen to be "after the Lord Mayor's Show" with our back to back promotions creating an expectation that candidates might think leaves them on a hiding to nothing. Especially as it has already been demonstrated with O'Kane and Grabban that we do not have the bottomless pit of money clubs like Bournemouth have?

Every club can't be looking strong with pots of money and going for promotion. I'm sure there is a manager out there who is prepared to take on the challenge of establishing Crawley as a decent L1 club.

I am sure there is, but the point was if we are looking for a good prospect, and not just any old has been, then there are good people who may not jump because of the points raised.
Just need somebody brave and ambitious enough who doesnt just rely on money?

Gareth Southgate is a Crawley guy and he has the right name he fits perfectly for the club so what the heck is the delay in appointing him?

Is that the same Gareth Southgate whose managerial win ratio is a mighty 29.3%?

Are you going to change your criteria for him?

James, i dont know why you even bother replying to him, its clear the guy is a total Vegetable!!!

Dear God almighty!

If he had meant that, he would have asked that.

Wasn't his first managerial post with Crawley's Reserves, before getting the first team job? (If so, I'm guessing that was Ian's point Wink)

I'd consider a landmark appointment - Hope Powell.
The coverage would be bonkers and crowds would go up.
History in the making (that's from Man v Food, isn't it?)

Anyway, not sure if she's any good of course... but she does have the highest possible coaching qualification.

No, I meant when he took over as manager of Crawley Town, which is why I specifically said 'when he took over'.

But thank you for emphasising my point that it was precisely 0%! He who dares, Rodders.

It wasn't 0% though, was it Mr M. He was manager of the reserves beforehand (just as any man appointed to CTFC... should that event ever occur... had history), though more to the point a P0 W0 managerial record is infinity as a win ratio, not 0!

a) Reserve fixtures do not count for managers just as they don't for players when it comes to hard stats.

b) Pedant. He had won no senior games as a manager. Wink
