Not that I think we will get Dyche (or anyone come to that!) but anybody know what his football playing style/philosophy was. Would we get a nice passing game or hoof ball?

Yeah, had spotted Dyche's odds shooting lower, Pemberton still 2nd favourite but much further out at 8-1, Victor seem to have given up on taking bets on this saga.

As we've seen though, the betting is quite volatile on this so not sure what the above means in practice - certainly there's no such thing as 'nailed on'!

Not sure about Dyche's playing style, although clearly it was effective - I'm guessing it's likely to have at least some element of passing since he was managing in the Championship.

Would be pleased to see him appointed if he'd be prepared to drop down a division from where he was last season but, as others have said, would be a concern how long he'd be with us as, when Championship clubs start firing their managers mid-season, he'd most likely be in the frame.

Whilst it isn't ideal, this is always likely to be a hazard, as with players - when it is going well, others take note.

As long as a suitable contract is in place then we should at least receive compensation and maybe half a season of good results to have us stable in L1 if this was the scenario - much better than starting the season without a manager and struggling at bottom of L1 whilst trying to appoint as transfer window closes.

Why this wild assumption that Dyche will be a roaring success?

Have you had a word with your mate at Sky Sports about Pemberton being 'nailed on' for the job?

I think we have to hope / assume that any new manager will be, if they are barely appointed and we are already thinking that they are no good and we are going down it hardly sets the right tone.

Who ever is appointed will need at least half a season to get in, view the players and get them playing the way they want before we can judge them. However, people also have to remember where we have come from and take that into context rather than just calling for them out because we aren't in the top 6 or 7

Assume Pemberton has been told he'll be getting the top job at Bramall Lane as soon as its free.

It is time to draw a line under all this and get Steve Coppell and Craig Brewster to take charge for this season. We can't just have people showing an interest, having talks and then saying "no thanks"
If the club keeps getting rejections then each new candidate will wonder why the previous candidate rejected the job, which will put a doubt in their mind even before an interview takes place. It is a mess.

The reason they are rejecting the job is loyalty and the chance of promotion with the club there at,Good on them, they have to think of themselves in the football world.
Other managers will not be put off by others rejections.

No way is it a mess, there is no panic getting another manager, which I am sure they will do, as Crawley is a good club to come to.

Coppell and Brewster will do okay while we wait.

Keep the Faith
