Just heard from a mate in Sheffield that Pemberton will be watching the Three Bridges game with AW and that talks will take place the next day

All on your best behaviour tonight then! Very Happy

Yeah, don't think many people are betting so the bookies get a bit overexcited when anyone does bet and someone suddenly climbs the list.

JP was 5/4 with Sky Bet and 8/11 with Victor around lunchtime so is drifting slightly.

Don't know how reliable he is, but this is from a journalist in Sheffield...

Sean Dyche would be the fans choice judging by what many were saying tonight

Nice for whoever the next manager is to know that at best they were 4th choice, after SO'D, and assuming Holdsworth and Pemberton did turn us down. Getting slightly embarrassing now.....

He would be a great choice, but surely he'll be in demand, worked wonders at Watford on relatively low budgets?

Not if he's turned us down no.

Whatever next.

Mr Thad Thaddeus has turned down the chance to manage Crawley Town. After long and intensive negotiations during half time at the Three Bridges game Mr Thaddeus decided he wished to continue in his current role as chief fanzine seller in Broadfield underpass.

Steve Evans, originally a 500-1 outsider, is now odds on favourite.

Seems to be well quoted on the Sheffield United forum that he has turned us down, did we even talk to him. They also seem to think there is something not quite right here with our owners chucking money around. Not sure how that stacks up with us being interested in an academy manager from a lge.1 club, but maybe they still have delusion of grandeur!
Not that it does us any good if true, bit of a poisoned chalice now, all that and having to listen to T.Bridges fans with the smart *beep* remarks about which team is the Lge 1 out there. Would have thought for a PR excercise if nothing else we could have had 20 minutes from the 1st team? Do all the reserve team blending in at Bromley or Tonbridge.
Not Yates surely!!!!

If, as has been reported, John Pemberton's son plays for Sheffield United in their accademy. I would be very surprised if he was to move down to Crawley.

At least Dyche doesnt have a current job as an excuse for turning us down, what excuse can he use, but bearing in mind he has worked at a much bigger club and been acknowledged as doing a decent job will he want to drop down or maybe hold out for something better?
Then again if he were to take it and makes an immediate success of it he will be in demand when the first round of sackings come along in September/October.
For all those apologists for O'Driscoll maybe they can now see how much he has left us in the lurch at a time when managers are loathe to jump ship and change jobs. Or is it just for some other reasons that people dont want to join us? Shocked
