This poll will be open for 3 days.

Please do not vote in the poll if you did not actually ATTEND the game.

Users are reminded that their vote should be based on the players performance during this match and they should not automatically vote for their favourite player or relative.

Any users whose vote is deemed to have fallen into either category will see their vote voided and they may be unable to vote in future MoM polls.

Still think it's odd that people who watched this game LIVE on TV can't vote. What is it that makes the moderators think their view / opinion would be any less for having watched it on TV? Aside from the 'we've always done it like that' argument.... Rolling Eyes

I do agree although I was intending to be a bit more polite about it Smile
Any chance of allowing a free vote for those who watched the whole match on telly please Mr Moderator? Smile

When you watch on TV, you only get to see what the cameras allow you to see. Players (can) do a lot of work out of sight of the broadcast pictures, that means that the TV viewer doesn't have the same insight that someone at the game has. For that reason, we have always restricted MoM voting to those who attend the game.

If I listened to a full match commentary on the radio, should I be allowed a vote?

And, especially for Greg - we've always done it like that. Razz

There is, of course, nothing to prevent someone creating a poll themselves for TV viewers to vote for a MoM. It just won't be used in calculating the official MoM...

Really? I'm not sure the operators of the damaged satellites would agree.....

On a day of little creativity, it's Claude for me. He dealt with pretty much everything.

A point well made Chris and one that I think I should have realised.
Thanks for responding.

There's always the opposing view of course that says that because of the number of TV cameras at a live game, and with instant replays etc. those at home actually see more of the game Wink

It's interesting though... if you attend a match that is televised and discuss it with people who watched it on TV.. or vice versa.. you always get completely different views of certain individuals...

I spoke to someone the day after the OT match and he said that Matt Tubbs didn't seem to do a lot... I thought he did a fantastic job and never stopped.. but I guess the camera didn't show him pulling their defenders about when he never had the ball....(?)
